Dr. Stephens graduated from Northern Kentucky University in Highland Heights, KY, with a degree in Chemistry. He then obtained his Doctorate in Medical Science at Vanderbilt University in Nashville, TN. He served his Internship and later his Residency at Vanderbilt University, serving as the Chief Resident for his duration of his Residency. For his Fellowship in Hematology/Oncology, Dr. Stephens chose Indiana University School of Medicine in Indianapolis, IN, in part serving as a Bone Marrow Transplant Physician.

Dr. Stephens fills his time away from the office with activities at his church and his family. He and his wife Jane have three daughters and one son.
